Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! I'm Martin. I grew up in the frozen north called Rochester, New York (Some people call it "Almost Canada").

For the past two summers, I've been looking in the parks around the city of Rochester to quantify the plant diversity we have there. Because even though it's cold, we still have A LOT of plants!

My daily job basically entailed bush-wandering (I hate the term bush-WACKING...it seems unfair to the plants) through the forrest and meadows of the parks, and looking for both rare indigenous wildflowers as well as tracking the spread of possibly invasive foreign species.

It just so happens that Princeton is a great place to study plants as well! We have all sorts of interesting and editing life right below our feet! Well...hopefully not, because that would mean that you're stepping on them. But you get the idea...

S129: Botany! in Splash Spring 13 (Apr. 27, 2013)
Come join us and study the amazing world of plants! Princeton has a great variety of both natural and cultivated flora, from indigenous wildflowers to our very own "Fossil Tree!" If the weather's nice, we'll take a stroll through campus looking, (and of course, smelling!) at the more interesting species that surround us.
